Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo Laborists

Our hospitalist program ensures you have access to attending physician coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These Doctors have passed their Board exams for OB/GYN and are physically located in the hospital at all times. Limited to 12 hour shifts, we ensure that the doctor delivering your baby is well rested, alert and attentive to your needs. The OB/GYN hospitalist's sole focus is on delivering babies, increasing quality outcomes and patient safety.

By having a hospital-based group, Women & Children's Hospital is able to ensure that current, evidence-based practice protocols are consistently utilized. Our doctors are there to meet you when you arrive in our hospital, stay with you through your baby's birth and follow you until you are ready to leave our care. Working with the excellent nurses, high risk specialists and maternity team, this elite group provides our community with the innovative care you have come to expect from Kaleida Health.

Birthing Methods

Birthing BallKaleida Health is happy to work with each family to create a birthing experience of their choice.  We will do our very best to accommodate any requests, including:

  • Siblings at birth (must attend a special class with the childbirth education department)
  • Water birth (Only at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo)
  • Use of birthing balls
  • Doula assisted birth
  • Create a “home like” birth
